$500k For Girmit Day
The Government has approved a $500,000 grant for the celebration of Girmit Day, a two-day conference scheduled for May 12 to 13, 2023.

The Government has approved a $500,000 grant for the celebration of Girmit Day, a two-day conference scheduled for May 12 to 13, 2023.
The announcement was made by Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development, and Statistics Biman Prasad in Parliament yesterday.
Additionally, entities that provide cash donations in an account approved by the Government for funding activities related to Girmit Day (including conferences, sports, etc.) will receive a 200 per cent tax deduction.
