330,000 People Screened, Says Chief Medical Adviser

Over 330,000 people have been screened at the fever clinics and mobile fever clinics around the country.
This accounts for close to one third of Fiji’s population, said Chief Medical Adviser of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Dr Jemesa Tudravu.
Dr Tudravu said the Fiji Centre for Disease Control in Tamavua has also completed 943 tests.

“This is a very significant feat and we thank the teams that are going out to undertake the fever clinics and we also thank members of the community who are coming forth and making use of this service making sure we keep a close tab on the presence of fever in the community,” he said during a press conference on Friday.
“Two more COVID-19 patients have recovered totaling the number of recoveries to 10 as of yesterday morning, this brings the recovery percentage in Fiji to 56 per cent.
He said 289 individuals were still being quarantined under the Government quarantine facilities such as hotels in the West.
Dr Tudravu said 7000 calls had been received on the 158 toll-free health helpline.
