6 Year Old Child's Body Recovered From River

A 6-year-old child is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.

The victim was swimming with her sister at the Navatuvula River near Raralevu Village on Sunday when she disappeared.

A search conducted by villagers managed to recover the victim’s body a few meters from where she had disappeared.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations continue.

The drowning death toll currently stands at 3 compared to 8 for the same period last year.
