Close to 600 Police officers based in the Western Division will be spending their Easter weekend away from their families.

Out of the 600 officers, close to 200 of them are women Police officers.

The Fiji Police Force acknowledges the hard work, commitment and sacrifice these officers put in especially during this time as the country experiences the effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Police officers are also assisting at the 25 evacuation centres that are still active in the Western

Division including two in Lautoka which are at the Lovu Sangam School and Natabua Primary School.

The evacuation centres were opened for people who were affected by the Tropical Cyclone Harold.

Meanwhile, a number of civil servants have formed teams to begin with accessing of the damages

caused by TC Harold to the agricultural sector in Tavua.
