New 40 room hotel to stimulate tourism growth in Labasa
Damodar Group chief executive officer Div Damodar said the new branded hotel would be the catalyst for other brands in Labasa.

Damodar Group’s new 40-room hotel is expected to bring a new era of tourism and accommodation in Labasa town.
The new hotel is part of the larger Damodar City Labasa project, a comprehensive commercial development into which Damodar North Pte Limited has invested $60 million.
Of this amount, $10M was invested into the construction and fit out of the hotel.

Looking at the future of Labasa’s tourism, Mr Damodar said there were several potential tourism ven-tures in Labasa that could include hiking tours, river safaris, and fishing excursions.
Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica said the Ramada Encore by Wyndham is set to elevate Labasa’s hospitality standards as its first international brand hotel.
“The Fiji Government recognises the importance of continued investment and development in Labasa and Vanua Levu,” Mr Kamikamica said.
“By fostering partnerships with private investors and supporting projects like the Damodar City Labasa, we are working to ensure that our region not only meets the current demands but is also well-positioned for future growth.”
The new Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel is scheduled to open later this year.
