Fiji’s Brighter Minds programme is set to expand its reach in schools following a $6,500 funding boost aimed at strengthening teacher training and student learning resources.

The Kimaya Brighter Minds Trust received the donation from Hamilton Sangam New Zealand, with funds raised through a recent golf tournament held at Denarau Golf Club in Nadi.

The contribution will support the programme’s rollout into more schools across the country.

The funding will go towards training additional teachers and providing essential learning kits, key components of the programme’s expansion strategy.

Hamilton Sangam representative Munish Chetty said the organisation was pleased to back an initiative focused on children’s development and long-term potential.

“Hamilton Sangam is proud to be associated with Kimaya Brighter Minds, the cause it stands for, and what it has achieved with young minds in Fiji,” Mr Chetty said.

“Supporting initiatives that empower children and invest in their future is something we strongly believe in.”

The Brighter Minds programme is a neuroscience-based initiative for children aged five to 15, designed to enhance concentration, memory, emotional intelligence and confidence.

Kimaya Brighter Minds Trust chairman Damendran Gounder said the support would directly strengthen the programme’s national reach and delivery.

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support from Hamilton Sangam. Contributions such as this enable us to train more teachers, provide more teaching kits, expand into more schools, and ultimately reach and educate more children across Fiji,” Mr Gounder said.

The trust expressed sincere appreciation to Hamilton Sangam for its proactive support beyond the classroom, helping shape the future of Fiji.

Ambassador Waisale Serevi, a strong supporter of the programme, joined in the presentation, underscoring the importance of collective effort in shaping the next generation.
