Attorney-General Graham Leung has shifted his stance on Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku following a Supreme Court opinion.

Initially, Mr Leung affirmed that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is appointed by the President based on the Judicial Services Commission's (JSC) independent advice and that he would respect the JSC's process.

However, in a surprising Facebook statement last night, the A-G called for Mr Rabuku to "do the honourable thing and step aside", emphasising that the office's integrity surpasses individual interests.
