Anirudh Prasad moved to Navua from Nadogo, Labasa in search of a better life after their sugarcane land lease expired 25 years ago.
A carpenter by trade, Mr Prasad started to face difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, he has not given up and says each member of a family has a role to play in the fight against the effects of COVID-19.

The 49-year-old and his wife have ventured into a sweet selling business at Tokotoko Road junction in Navua hoping to meet the needs of their family with what they could earn.
Mr Prasad said his wife Sandhya Prasad suggested she made sweets to generate some income to provide for their family needs.
Using his carpentry skills, he constructed a cart, applied for the necessary documentations he needed to start a business and in no time, they started their business.
He said everyone is struggling with this current pandemic but all family members needed to unite.
“Government is doing their bit to provide for affected Fijians, but we need to do our part also by finding means generate income, vaccinating and adhering to all safety measures,” said Mr Prasad.
