Accused Policeman Suspended for Minivan Theft

A policeman, whose father holds a high ranking position within the force, has been arrested and suspended in connection with an alleged minivan theft.

This masthead understands the policeman was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday morning.

His troubles do not end there. Allegations have also surfaced linking him to a series of break-ins at police stations, raising serious concerns about misconduct within the ranks.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, confirmed the arrest and outlined the immediate steps taken.

"We confirm the arrest, and the investigation is being handled by CID headquarters. The officer will take his leave and be suspended with a 50 per cent salary," Mr Chew said.
