The Fiji Police Force will terminate officers found to be breaking the law as it continues its war against illicit drugs in the country.

Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew said the Fiji Police Force would continue to serve the public to the best of its knowledge and abilities despite all the negativities.

“While we have some officers not doing things right according to their oath of service, we will take them to task internally through the disciplinary process or through the external court process,” Mr Chew said.

“The move is stated to ensure higher levels of professionalism, speed up the removal of rogue officers, and restore confidence in the forces,” he said.

“Under our leadership, a finding of gross misconduct will automatically result in a police officer’s dismissal, unless exceptional circumstances apply, speeding up the removal of officers not fit to serve.”
