Bilateral relations between Fiji and the People’s Republic of China has grown from strength to strength since its establishment in 1975, says a top Chinese government official.

The sentiment was raised by Gu Xiqiang, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs Division director during a press conference on Tuesday in Beijing, China.

“So, it’s 48 years now and we have had high level visits with Fiji which will keep this momentum. After the new government came in power many ministers have visited China already,” he said.
