Age is not a barrier for Geeta Praveen, who was one of the University of the South Pacific (USP) students who was admitted to the High Court of Fiji Bar during the Admission ceremony on Friday.

Age is not a barrier for Geeta Praveen, who was one of the University of the South Pacific (USP) students who was admitted to the High Court of Fiji Bar during the Admission ceremony on Friday.

The 49-year-old Labasa woman was proud to finally practice as a lawyer after spending years working as a legal research officer in countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and India.

Ms Praveen said the reason she returned to Fiji was for her son and to get admitted here because she always wanted to know how the legal system in Fiji worked, particularly fighting for children’s rights and as a woman, to know where she belonged in society.
