I waited for two years to hear ‘the flowers look beautiful’ from tourists and I finally got to hear it on December 1.
These were the words expressed by an enthusiastic, Aisea Naitoki after seeing tourists flood the Nadi International Airport on Wednesday including yesterday.
The 28-year-old Nasama native from Nadroga has been employed under the Airports Fiji Limited management department for one year now. Previously he was a baggage handler for two years.

His key to beautifying the area that gives that spark to the Nadi International Airport is the positive remarks given from tourists.
“For us, we work here to make the tourists like what they see when they come to the airport, when no tourists are around, we do our work but no one notices, when they are around we are very happy for them to see our work,” he said.
“They tell us that our work is good of how we set up the flowers, their positive comments make us happy and that was what we were looking forward to, it motivates us to keep working.
“It also paints a good picture for us at work.”
Mr Naitoki said it was also a good feeling to be at work, getting his normal working hours back.
“During the first wave our work schedule was normal but when the second wave hit our hours were reduced, we were only working four days a week,” he said.
“Now we are on normal hours, we are happy to have the tourists back and I’m very happy about it.”
He is also appreciative to his wife, Unaisi Savumaca, a teacher at Nadele Public School who has also assisted him remain positive throughout the year.
