The all-clear follows a tsunami watch issued earlier by the Mineral Resources Department's Seismology Section after an 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck about 40 kilometres north-northeast of General Santos City in the Philippines at a depth of 46 kilometres.
The initial advisory warned residents in low-lying coastal areas across Fiji to remain alert and prepare for the possibility of strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges along shorelines.
Authorities closely monitored the situation throughout the day while urging the public to follow official updates and safety advisories.
With the threat now lifted, the NDRMO says there is no longer a tsunami risk to Fiji.
Members of the public seeking further information can contact the NDRMO through its official communication channels.
