The case of the 31-year-old man alleged to have assaulted a woman to death in Raiwaqa last Monday has been transferred to the High Court in Suva.
Anare Vuli Ciliceva appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday with one count of murder.
It is alleged that on September 9, in Raiwaqa, Suva, Ciliceva murdered a Sabreen Shahib Ali.

During the court proceedings, Ciliceva informed the court that he would like to reserve his right to counsel as he needed to make a few calls overseas to get funding for a lawyer.
Granting him time, Magistrate Savou informed him that given that his charge was an indictable offense, the matter would be transferred to the High Court.
In the meantime, Ciliceva will remain on remand; however, the court has given him 21 days to prepare his Alibi Notice.
The matter is adjourned to September 30.
