Alleged Oil Spill in Nabua

When FijiSun visited the site, people had stopped over to see the alleged underground oil which was cordoned off by Police.

The Department of Environment has taken oil samples from Golf Link Road junction at Nabua near Suva to identify its source.

This is at the junction of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School (RSMS).

On Saturday, people took to social media posting the alleged oil coming from underground.

When FijiSun visited the site, people had stopped over to see the alleged underground oil which was cordoned off by Police.

The Department of Environment was notified of the oil spill by Nabua Police Station personnel.

Divisional Police Commander South Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Wate Vocevoce said Police were working with National Fire Authority personnel and had cordoned the scene to determine the spillage source.
