Young people being involved in the sugar industry will lead to sustainability.

These were the words of secondary school teacher and sugar cane farmer, Alvin Sharma, who encouraged youths to take interest in being a sugar cane farmer because it was a good source of income.

Mr Sharma, a teacher at Ba Sangam College, has been involved in sugar cane farming since the age of 10 by assisting his parents on their sugarcane field.
