Ambassador to PNG, Tikoitoga Laid to Rest Today

The late High Commissioner was a decorated military officer, having served 32 years in the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere described the late Ambassador Mosese Tikoitoga as an invaluable member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, proudly answering the nation’s call and demonstrating dedication and passion throughout his tenure.

During yesterday’s Government’s reguregu, Ratu Wiliame underlined the importance of Ambassador Tikoitoga’s commitment and diligence in the strengthening of our ties with Papua New Guinea.

He was Fiji’s High Commissioner to PNG until his death on Friday, December 29, 2023.

The late High Commissioner was a decorated military officer, having served 32 years in the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

He rose through the officer corps, holding positions such as Commander of RFMF, Chief of Staff, Commander Land Force, and Commanding Officer of Fiji’s Peacekeeping Contingents in UN missions in Iraq and East Timor.

The late Mr Tikoitoga was accorded a military escort from the CWM Hospital morgue along Brown St, Suva, before being escorted to Pacific Harbour in Deuba.

He will be buried at the Pacific Harbour cemetery today after his memorial service at the Makosoi Methodist Church in Pacific Harbour.
