‘Anti-Vaxxer’ Bailed, Warned To Deactivate Facebook Account

A woman who allegedly posted anti-vaccination comments on her live video posts on Facebook appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Adi Nanise Vucago who goes by the name Vucago Noody on Facebook has been charged with five counts of Malicious Acts Contrary to Section 15 (a) of the Public Or­der Act 1969 for posting videos on social media in relation to the COVID-19 vaccine which allegedly caused public anxiety.

She appeared before Magistrate Seini Pua­mau. It is alleged Vucago posted the live vid­eos last month condemning the COVID-19 vaccine.

Vucago was ordered to deactivate her Fa­cebook account and to refrain from putting up any post.

She was released on $1000 bail.

The case was adjourned to September 6 for a plea.
