Aryan Narayan was accorded his final rites when he was cremated at the Raralevu Cemetery in Nausori on Friday.

The body of the 17-year-old was found floating on the Toga side of the Rewa River, by a security officer on Thursday morning, two days after he went missing from near his home in Wainibokasi.

He had taken a walk with $18 and his mobile phone to buy a chicken from a shop, which was five minutes walk away from his home, on Tuesday. Aryan failed to return home. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the autopsy was conducted on the teenager’s body yesterday morning, but results were still yet to be given to the Police by the pathologist.

It is believed there were bruise marks on the body.

His father Nitesh Narayan and his family searched for Aryan on Tuesday afternoon into the night.

He said his wife called Aryan’s mobile phone on Tuesday multiple times. The only response was a call back from another person who swore at her.

Aryan’s mother Upashni Narayan claimed she heard Aryan’s voice in the background.

The call was traced to have been made near Vuci South.
