Asenaca Domokamica Defies All Odds To Earn

Asenaca Domokamica has proven that success is not only defined by white or blue-collar jobs.
Ms Domokamica, 61, has been a vendor at the Dreketi Market for more than 20 years.
It is a source of income that has been a pillar of hope for her and her eight children.

She sells pre-cooked food such as fish, and pork parcels among other ‘on the go’ food for travelers passing through Dreketi.
The market is along the Nabouwalu to Labasa highway. Commuters normally stop to have a have a break at Dreketi and buy food and refreshments from the market or use the restrooms.
One of her children has migrated overseas while the others are either nurses or have their own successful farming stories to tell.
Ms Domokamica’s journey to success was not a bed of roses because she worked hard for her children.
“I have been selling at this market for about 20 years. I have sacrificed a lot for my children,” Ms Domokamica said.
