Lautoka Hospital has clarified claims that the Ba Hospital was under-resourced during a power outage.
This was in response to questions about the power outage that resulted in the cancellation of surgeries this week.
The Aspen Medical spokesperson said the Lautoka and Ba hospitals were equipped with generators as a backup for any disruptions in the power supply.

These generators ensure that essential services can continue uninterrupted, even during outages.
The spokesperson said surgeries were not canceled because of the recent outages.
“Our hospitals rely on these generators to maintain the necessary power supply during such situations, allowing us to uphold our commitment to providing quality healthcare services to our patients without interruptions,” the spokesperson said.
