Australia will provide an additional AUD$16 million (about FJ$24 million) in grant funding to support the construction and upgrading of schools and health facilities across Fiji after Cabinet endorsed an amendment to the Fiji Social Infrastructure Programme.
In a statement, the Fijian Government said the additional funding, approved under Amendment No. 3 to the Direct Funding Arrangement between the Governments of Fiji and Australia, will extend the programme until December 2028.
The funding will support the continued development of schools and healthcare facilities, with a focus on making them safer, more inclusive and resilient to the impacts of climate change.
