Ba Family Takes Morgue Services, Authorities To Court

A family in Raviravi, Ba has filed a case against Suva Morgue Services for releasing the body of a relative to the wrong family. The Subaiya family member's body was taken by another family of Navua for funeral rites in January this year.

A family in Raviravi, Ba has filed a case against Suva Morgue Services for releasing the body of a relative to the wrong family.

The Subaiya family member's body was taken by another family of Navua for funeral rites in January this year.

The family filed a civil action in the Civil High Court of Suva against the Suva Morgue Services, the Minister for Health and Medical Services, the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, and the Attorney-General.

It is claiming more than $100,000 in monetary compensation for its pain and suffering.

The matter will be called for mention on July 19.
