Ba Leaders To Talk Quality Education
Province to resolve why iTaukei were not interested in education or attending school.

The leaders of Ba Province will meet on Friday to discuss successful pathways for their children.
This follows the completion of the Ba Provincial Council meeting at Soso Village in Yasawa last week.
During the council meeting, an important topic raised was the standard of education of their children in the province.

Roko Tui Ba, Viliame Seuseu, told the participants that a study conducted in 2018 showed there were about 18,000 school dropouts for the Yasana o Ba (Ba Province).
This figure was shocking to some leaders.
An education summit for the Western Division would be held at Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi on Friday to address the matter.
Uplifting the standard of education for children in the province is priority, retired head teacher Joeli Bulu Derenalagi said.
“This is something we need to look into intensely,” he said.
“We must encourage our vanua to strive for higher education and support students who are making an effort to thrive academically.
“The topic to be discussed at the summit will be the quality of education in years to come.”
