Baby Jack’s Expands Department at Damodar Complex, Suva

Baby Jack’s, the popular children’s retail chain, has opened its fourth store in Fiji, marking a significant milestone in its expansion.
This latest outlet is located within the Damodar complex in Suva.
This adds to the existing Baby Jack’s locations that began with the first store in Suva in 2016 at Renwick Road Suva.

While Lautoka’s Baby Jack’s store opened in the year 2021 and most recently with their flagship store in Nadi in the year 2023.
Jack’s of Fiji, Senior Marketing Officer, Rayna Chandra said with the first Baby Jack’s store opening in Suva in mid-August 2016, there were rave reviews of the store and its new brand.
“There was a huge demand from Central customers for more stores to accommodate their needs thus Jack’s of Fiji started planning another Baby Jack’s opening in the greater Suva region, which has now eventuated into this opening within our Damodar Store.

“The Damodar complex itself boasts thousands of arrivals each day and we believe that this new addition will not only bring us better business but liven up the atmosphere of the complex.”
Ms Chandra said Baby Jack’s carries great in-house brands such as Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe and Jackie K, alongside international brands such as Ryco, Bright Starts, Avent and so much more.
“Apart from comfortable, cute and affordable clothing for children, the store also carries feeding essentials, home essentials such as strollers, cots, and baby walkers, and an extensive collection of both educational and recreational toys,” she said.
Half a million investment
Jack’s of Fiji, Group Marketing Manager, Akash Narsey sharing his thoughts on the new store, said, “The idea behind incorporating a Baby Jack’s space within the Jack’s of Fiji Damodar store was to create a comprehensive one-stop shop for parents and children.
“It fills in a very unique position in the country which other competitors cannot match.
“Growing our brand and growing our stores shows commitment to our customers.
With Jack’s of Fiji’s dedication to contributing to the local economy, Mr Narsey said the expansion of the Baby Jack’s store created additiona employment.
“To expand the current Damodar store for Baby Jack’s, around half a million was invested and provided for up to 10 additional new staff members.,” Mr Narsey said.
“Jacks of Fiji will continue to invest in the economy and country with the opening of some new stores quite soon,” he said.
Baby Jacks expansion
Losana Lewanibeto, a dedicated employee who started her journey last year said her experience has been deeply intertwined with the growth of the Baby Jacks department.
“I started in the ladies’ department and when Baby Jack’s moved into its new space, I was already here in the same location.
“Before, we had a smaller department with limited stock, now, we have a wide range of items, and our customers appreciate it,” she explained.
Ms Lewanibeto takes pride in the positive interactions she has with customers.
“Most customers who come in already know what they want and they enjoy shopping here, and we get along well with their kids too.”
She said as an employee she also values the support she receives from her colleagues, as they have a great support system.
“Being a single mother, this job fits well into my life, and I’m grateful for the understanding and encouragement from my managers and team,” she said.
