Mote than 300 people gathered to celebrate the Diwali Utsav at the University of the South Pacific on October 21, 2022.
More than 300 people gathered to celebrate Diwali Utsav on Friday night after a lapse of two years.
The celebration was in collaboration with the India Fiji Friendship Forum (IFFF), Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre and the High Commission of India Fiji which was held at the University of the South Pacific (USP) Japan ICT Centre.
The Acting High Commissioner of India to Fiji, Saifullah Khan, said people from all nationalities celebrate diwali with harmony and thanked everyone for attending the event.

Rajveer Kumar, 48, of Nakasi said it was a night to remember.
“I was not expecting to see a lot of people and I am happy that I was also part of the event,” Mr Kumar said
" I hope this will be a yearly event where people gather in large numbers to celebrate.
“It is good to see Fijians with different backgrounds attending the event.”
The celebration included dance performances by traditional dances Shiv Tandav, Bhangra Dance, Kathak Dance, Bharatnatyam classical dance, Garba dance and Punjabi dance, best dressed attire competition and refreshments.
