‘Blue Pacific Village’ Comes Alive
The Blue Pacific Village, hosted by the Fijian Government, was set up to recognise the strength and resilience of the Blue Pacific region.

The ‘Blue Pacific Village’ at the Thurston Gardens in Suva will be a hive of activity this week as member countries of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) converge to showcase the diversity in culture that exist in the Pacific.
The Blue Pacific Village, hosted by the Fijian Government, was set up to recognise the strength and resilience of the Blue Pacific region. The Blue Pacific Village is open to the public from 9am to 8pm, daily.
A statement by the Fijian Government had said that the pro- gramme reflected on the Pacific’s regional solidarity, cultural diversity and the 50 years of journey that the Pacific Family has accomplished since the establishment of the Pacific Islands Forum.

“It will feature activities significant to our Pacific Family and these include: Climate and Oceans, Regionalism, Early Childhood Development, Promoting Women and Girl Empowerment in the Pacific,” the statement read.
“It is a platform where the Pacific Missions will be displaying educational information regarding their respective countries and that of the region.”
Public talanoa sessions, a showcase of the Pacific’s unique cultural performances, arts and music and food stalls are on offer until Thursday, July 14.
