Boy In Hospital After Allegedly Bumped By Police Vehicle

He was rushed to Nausori Hospital and was later transferred to the CWM Hospital in Suva.

Family members of an eight-year-old boy who was allegedly bumped by a Police vehicle yesterday were thankful to God that their child survived the accident.

Vaviano Vusuya, was crossing the main street of Nausori Town, beside RB Patel Supermarket when the incident happened around 2pm.

He was rushed to Nausori Hospital and was later transferred to the CWM Hospital in Suva.

His uncle, Ratu Netava Vusuya said he was supposed to spend the weekend at their place with his grandmother who sold food parcel near the supermarket.

He said he was relieved to see his nephew alive despite the accident.

“I pray that he will be healed. He is a brave young boy,” Mr Netava said.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident and said the officer responsible was in custody as investigation continues.
