A man in his 30s is now in police custody after forcing his way into the Prime Minister's residence on Saturday around midday.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu confirmed that the suspect was initially stopped and turned away at the main gate for lacking prior approval or an appointment.
Undeterred, the man later managed to sneak in through the rear of the compound, triggering his immediate arrest.
