Corporal punishment is again the call of education stakehold­ers to curb the disciplinary issues that have spiraled out of control in schools.

Reintroducing corporal punishment is one of the many suggestions raised by some stakeholders at one of the pre-education summits to address challenges that have plagued the edu­cation sector.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro knows the process won't be easy but is adamant about other alternatives. Fiji is a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child - to education, and zero-tolerance on physical abuse against children.
