Brothers Escape Early Dip In Baulevu River
First responders rushed to the scene after hearing a loud crashing noise on the roadside around 9am.

Two brothers are in stable condition at the Nausori Hospital after the car they were in veered off the road into the muddy waters of the Baulevu River just outside of Nausori Town yesterday.
First responders rushed to the scene after hearing a loud crashing noise on the roadside around 9am.
“Most of us ran out of our homes after we heard a crash, the vehicle had veered off the road and slammed into a coconut tree near the river bank,” a witness said.

“By the time we reached the car, we saw the passenger trying to escape out of the vehicle while the driver was still stuck inside.”
Immediately after the impact, witnesses say the car dove right into the cold Baulevu River. The driver after managing to free himself swam ashore.
Witnesses said the 21-year-old driver lost control of the car with his 16-year-old brother on the passenger seat.
The Baulevu residents acted immediately and helped the brothers into safety.
Police spokeswoman, Ana Naisoro confirmed the two did not sustain serious injuries and were in a stable condition.
Police investigations are still continuing as they are yet to question the driver and witnesses. Edited by Selita Bolanavanua
