BSP Transforms a HART Primary School with Community Project.

Christmas came early for the 388 students at Wainibuku HART Primary School, thanks to a transformative community project led by BSP Financial Group Limited.

The project, spearheaded by the Bank’s Suva Central Branch staff, aimed to enhance the learning environment for the students by converting a room into a school library, transforming a storage room into a canteen and upgrading the school's kindergarten center.

Kamini Mani, BSP’s Head of Branch Network, who officiated the event, expressed her delight in supporting a project that significantly improves students' learning experiences.

She emphasised the importance of education as the greatest equaliser because, irrespective of backgrounds, it empowers children with the knowledge and skills to improve their future livelihoods and lead fulfilling lives.

Over several weeks, the BSP Suva Central Branch worked closely with the school faculty and Project Partner, Design & Creative Building Solutions, to bring the project to fruition.

The initiatives included the conversion of a book storeroom into a functional library, complete with repairs, installation of bookshelves, tables, and chairs, and a vibrant ambience conducive to reading.

Additionally, the kindergarten building underwent a thorough cleaning, painting, and the installation of play equipment to support the early childhood education crucial for the students' learning development.

In another part of the school, a storeroom was converted into a canteen, a service previously unavailable at the school. This initiative aimed to provide the students with access to the same amenities available to their peers in other primary schools, further enhancing their overall school experience.

Ms. Mani commended the Suva Central branch staff for their dedication and volunteer hours in completing the project, despite their commitments to running one of the largest branches.  She expressed confidence that the improved school environment would provide necessary stepping stones for the students' success later in life and extended her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project.

BSP Financial Group Limited has consistently demonstrated its commitment to Fiji through an extensive and long standing Corporate Social Responsibility program.  This year, some of these include the $100, 000 donation for the upgrade of CWM Hospital in Suva and Community Projects at Nadroga’s Rukuruku District School, Rakiraki’ s Navitilevu Primary School, Savusavu’s Kasavu Primary School and Labasa’s Coqeloa Health Centre.

The transformation of Wainibuku HART Primary School adds to a list of notable projects, showcasing BSP’s ongoing dedication to creating a positive impact in the community.
