Bus service in the Northern Division has ceased operations due to the forecasted adverse weather condition.

Dalip Bus Company and Son Limited director Rohinil Chand said there is flooding on the roads and the road condition is not good.

Mr Chand said all the buses are parked in the garage and the drivers are at home, if the weather clears up then they will continue the bus services.

Parmod Enterprises Limited director Edwin Chand said they had closed the bus service since Friday morning and if weather is permissible they they will operate today.

Northern Bus Limited is currently operating but had ceased operation at 10 am as per adverse weather conditions.

Company director, Ravinesh Raju said the bus will cease operations until further notice.

Meanwhile, passengers were left stranded at the bus stand as there was no prior public notice.

Shiu Lal has been waiting for the bus to return home at Valebasoga.

Ajeshwar Prasad who works as a security officer has been waiting for the bus as he knocked off work yesterday morning.

He is unsure as to how he will return home to his family as it continues to rain heavily in Labasa.

Mr Prasad said that it is the responsibility of bus companies to inform the public in advance if they cease operations.
