Call For More Women In Politics

Fiji needs to seriously consider having more women representation in Parliament to ensure there is adequate representation in the political sphere.

Fiji needs to seriously consider having more women representation in Parliament to ensure there is adequate representation in the political sphere.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for External Trade, Cooperatives and SMES, Manoa Kamikamica made the comment during the Empowered Women Empower Women event organised by the Voice of Needy Foundation at the Bulabard Hotel at Wailoaloa, Nadi on Friday night.

Mr Kamikamica said they were asked by the New Zealand Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta at a dinner in Suva last week on why there was a lack of women representation in Fijian politics.
