Villagers from Daku, Nakelo, Tailevu, along with neighbouring communities, gathered at Daku Village to submit their views on amendments to the 2013 Constitution.
Tailevu community leader Samuela Vosabeci has proposed a constitutional salary cap of $80,000 to $100,000 for the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament.
He also called for electoral reforms and greater returns for landowners.
As ordinary Fijians continue to face rising living costs, the Mata ni Tikina o Buretu said public office should be about service, not personal wealth.

Speaking during the Constitution Review Commission (CRC) consultation at Daku Village Hall, Mr Vosabeci said the revised Constitution should include provisions to cap politicians' salaries and ensure greater accountability in the use of taxpayers' money.
“Leaders are elected to serve the people, and salary levels should reflect the economic realities faced by many families across the country,” he said.
Mr Vosabeci also proposed that landowners receive a fairer share of revenue generated from minerals and natural resources extracted from their land.
On electoral reform, he called for the removal of the current single national constituency system and the reintroduction of multiple constituencies.
“This would strengthen representation and allow communities to elect leaders who are directly connected to their areas,” he said.
He also raised concerns about the current voting system, arguing that some candidates receive significant support but struggle to secure representation under the existing arrangements.
Mr Vosabeci said the constitutional review provided an opportunity to address issues affecting ordinary citizens and ensure the country's laws reflected fairness, accountability and the interests of future generations.
