Absolute Medical Response, (AMR), will conduct a recruitment for 50 caregivers at the end of the month.
These Fijian caregivers will be assigned to work in Australia next year.
Managing director of AMR Dr Peter Mangles revealed this during the Caregivers Training Institute CTI graduation at the Fiji National University Namaka Campus in Nadi two weeks ago.

“At the end of this year we will be back here to start to recruit caregivers to come to Australia.
“They will start to work in Australia in regional and remote areas of Australia to look after the elderly and disabled people.”
“It is not about recruitment, it is about ensuring there is an education pathway when they come to Australia.
They will be able to gain another Australian National Certificate.”
He said the recruitment would gave the graduates the opportunity to work and be exposed to a well-established age-care service in Australia.
They would return with those skills and knowledge to Fiji as well, he said.
CTI graduate Senimelia Kaloumaiqele was one of the students who received two certificates of recognition.
Originally from Rewa, the mother of one had her attachment by looking after a 85-year-old mother.
She said the practical attachment drew her love closer to her mother.
“My mother is at our family home at Votualevu and she had been taken care of by my other siblings.
After I got married, I don’t spend much time with my mother.
“During our attachment, I asked our tutor if I can do my practical at home for her.”
“That practicality has created closer love and attachment to my mother.
My mother is blind and also is deaf,” she said.
Ms Kaloumaiqele said the certificate gave her an opportunity to overseas and works to support her family and her elderly mother.
