Child found dead, farmer drowns and diver missing in three separate incidents

Police are investigating three alleged drowning incidents reported across Fiji in the past week, including the death of a three-year-old child, while the search continues for a 20-year-old diver missing off Sigatoka.
The first case was reported to Korovou Police Station after the three-year-old was found floating in a river near Lawaki Village, Tailevu, on the afternoon of July 10.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the child's death remain under investigation.

In the second incident, divers from the Police Mobile Force continued searching waters off Naevuevu Village, Sigatoka, for a 20-year-old man reported missing on July 10 after he was allegedly swept away by a strong current while diving.
The incident was reported by a 15-year-old who had accompanied the victim.
Police said search efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
In the third case, the body of a 68-year-old farmer was recovered from waters off Yadua, Sigatoka, on the afternoon of July 11 by a joint search team comprising Police Mobile Force divers and members of the Shangri La Hydro-sports team.
Police said the man allegedly drowned after his boat capsized.
Investigations into all three incidents are continuing.
