Child Tested Positive for Drugs, Police Investigate

Police are running a second round of tests to confirm an initial report where traces of an ingredient commonly found in an illicit drug tested positive on a child below five years old.

The child is admitted at the Co­lonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH).

The Fiji Sun understands the re­port was lodged at the Totogo Po­lice Station in Suva when the hos­pital made the initial discovery.

The Fiji Sun understands that the Criminal Investigation Depart­ment (CID) is also gathering infor­mation on the case.

The details of the report are at its early stage and Police will release further information once the sec­ond test is finalised.
