China’s Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo Salutes Fiji’s Peacekeeping Contributions

China’s Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo, has commended Fiji’s significant contribution to United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Ambassador Qian was officiating at the peacekeeping pre-deployment training ceremony for 168 Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) personnel at RFMF Black Rock camp in Nadi.
“Fiji has contributed more personnel to UN missions than any other state,” Ambassador Qian said.

“So here I would like to take this opportunity to salute the Government, the people and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.”
He commended the RFMF for paying attention to the pre-deployment training of men and women peacekeepers.

RFMF Deputy Commander Brigadier-General Mohammed Aziz said the RFMF deployed 594 troops in seven missions to be working on the ground for peacekeeping duties.
“In the peacekeeping calendar here, this is the last deployment of our peacekeepers abroad and this is the largest contingent, but having said that we must also acknowledge the other two missions in Syria and in Sinai,” he said.
