Christchurch Shootings: Ministers, Diplomats Youths Hold Vigils, Honouring Victims

Youth groups, diplomats, Government ministers and friends held a prayer vigil at Toorak Masjid, Suva last night honouring the victims of the mosques shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.
French ambassador to Fiji, Sujiro Seam, said he was shocked when he saw the news on Friday.
“New Zealand is the very last place in the world where we could expect such tragedy to occur,” he said.

He said they have had their share of terrorist attacks, but it does not correspond to the Christchurch shooting.
“Our sympathy to New Zealand in this difficult time.”
British High Commissioner to Fiji Melanie Hopkins said it was a tragic event for the Muslim community in New Zealand and around the world.
She also said the attack was not only to New Zealand, but to the world.
“The UK is with you during this dark hour,” she said.
