As the fireworks of 2026 warmed the city of Suva, a quieter but far more powerful moment was unfolding inside the maternity ward of the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital.
Wrapped in soft blankets and cradled in loving arms, the year’s very first newborns arrived.
There to celebrate with the new mums was the CJ Patel Nappy Time Team.
Their presence brought smiles to tired but glowing mothers, reminding families that they were not alone as they stepped into parenthood.
The team presented Nappy Time product hampers filled with baby care essentials, items that would soon become part of daily routines. For new mothers, these simple but practical hamper carried deeper meaning of reassurance, support, and a sense of being seen during one of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Midwives and nurses at CWM Hospital noted how gestures like these lift spirits on the ward.
“When a mother feels supported, it reflects in how she bonds with her baby,” one staff member said.
“That encouragement matters.”
For CJ Patel, the visit was more than a ceremonial start to the year.
It reflected the company’s ongoing commitment to families and infant wellbeing across Fiji, beginning right where life itself begins.
The CJ Patel team extended their congratulations to the families and wished all newborns a healthy and happy start to life in 2026.
