Close To 300 FIR Troops Complete Three Weeks Exercise In Kadavu
Close to 300 members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Third Battalion Infantry Regiment (3FIR) last week completed a three-week exercise called Exercise Southern Diamond on the island of Kadavu.

Close to 300 members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Third Battalion Infantry Regiment (3FIR) last week completed a three-week exercise called Exercise Southern Diamond on the island of Kadavu.
Commander of the RFMF Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai said this was a joint exercise with the troops from the New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF).
Major-General Kalouniwai said: “We are preparing for a bigger exercise that will be happening by the end of the year and it will be one of the biggest exercises in the Indo-Pacific, it will be the first time we will be part of that exercise,” he said.

“This battalion exercise was for preparation towards the bigger exercise that will be held in Australia where we will be sending troops to.
“That is why we are doing this and of course we plan on a brigade exercise for next year that will be for about 700 to 1000 troops.”
