Allegedly stealing women’s panties from clothes lines in Navua has landed a man in Police custody following his arrest on Friday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that officers in Navua arrested a 43-year-old man and after questioning have laid charges.

Ms Naisoro said the matter was reported to Police in Navua in May.

The alleged incident took place in Navua where the man is said to have targeted women’s underwear.

He was captured on CCTV cameras at a house.

According to Police it took a bit of time to identify the alleged thief because he had covered his face with his T-shirt.

Police said the complainants had distributed pictures of the man and this led to his identification as a result of the distinct markings on his body.

He has been charged with theft and will be produced at Navua Court on Monday.
