The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is still engaged in ‘continuous’ talks with its Coalition partners to secure diplomatic posts initially promised to them after the 2022 General Elections.

SODELPA party leader and Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro confirmed to this masthead yesterday that they still have yet to be given ‘some’ diplomatic post as part of the Coalition Agreement.

Under the 2022 Coalition Agreement, SODELPA was to have five diplomatic mission posts not limited to the United Kingdom, Washington DC and Roving Ambassador to Pacific Island Nations.

It is understood that SODELPA has not secured a single posting.

“That is something that we are continuing to highlight to our Coalition partners,” Mr Radrodro said.

“Some of the positions that are being detailed in the agreement but we are happy about the three years given to us. We had put in some candidates but they were rejected because they did not meet the criteria required for diplomatic postings.”

Despite this, the party remains committed to the Coalition Agreement according to Mr Rarodro.

In recent days, the party’s official Facebook page has been vocal and upfront in posting pictures of Mr Radrodro as the party’s proposed prime minister for the 2026 General Elections.
