Colonel Naliva Appointed Deputy Commander

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has congratu­lated Colonel Penioni Naliva for his appointment as Deputy Com­mander of 7th Brigade of the Aus­tralian Army.

The RFMF said the new appoint­ment solidifies Fiji’s Defence rela­tionship with Australia as the two forces continue to collaborate in var­ious areas within the Defence space.

The 7th Brigade is a high-readiness Brigade of the Australian Army, based at Gallipoli Barracks in Bris­bane.

Colonel Naliva had the opportunity to meet some of his new colleagues this week as he prepares for the new role.

In December 2023, Colonel Penioni Naliva graduated from the Austral­ian War College after completing the Defence and Strategic Studies Course.

He was also awarded the pres­tigious Fellow of the Defence and Strategic Studies Course Certificate from the Australian War College, along with their Master of Nation­al Security and Strategy (Leading International Policy) from Deakin University.
