Incoming Commissioner of Police (COMPOL) Rusiate Tudravu will report to work on Monday.

Prime Minister and chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed this yesterday.

Mr Rabuka made the comments in response to concerns raised regarding the abuse of office and misconduct allegation levelled against Mr Tudravu.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions closed the investigation earlier this month due to the lack of substantial evidence to carry the allegation forward.

“We also looked at the Commissioner of Police,” Mr Rabuka said.

“We also looked at the report from the independent committee on his salaries and allowances.

“Everything is in place for him to take over on the (February 3) Monday.”

Mr Tudravu was appointed to the position on December 18, 2025 following the recommendation of the COC to the President.

He is not new to the Police Force having spent 39 years before tendering his resignation in August 2021.

Mr Tudravu held the position of Deputy Commissioner when he resigned.
