Samu Radikisamoa from Narewa Village expressed his concern after discovering a decrease in the lease money reserved for his child.

The previous government had implemented an equal lease money distribution policy, where a portion was set aside for each child within the mataqali and would be disbursed when they turned 18.

During a Budget Consultation at the Nadi Civic Centre, Mr Radikisamoa brought up the matter with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Biman Prasad.

He explained that every year he would verify the lease money statement for his children with the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB).

However, when he checked the balance at TL TB this year, he found that it was significantly lower than the amount he had verified last year.

"I have got a statement here which shows the discrepancy," he told the Minister.
