Continuous learning key to policing, women officers told

Women officers of the Fiji Police Force have been encouraged to embrace continuous learning and build on the achievements of those who paved the way before them.
Northern Division Crime Officer, Superintendent of Police Isoa Natui stressed home the point at the conclusion of the Fiji Police Women’s Advisory Network (FPFWN) two-day empowerment workshop in Labasa on June 4-5 at the Ramada Encore Hotel.
Addressing participants, SP Natui highlighted the importance of on-going professional development in policing, describing it as a profession that demands adaptability and growth.

“This workshop is important in the sense that policing is a profession that requires constant learning and re-learning,” SP Natui said.
SP Natui commended women officers for their resilience and significant contributions to law enforcement, noting that female members of the Fiji Police Force have continued to break barriers and set new standards within the organisation.
“The achievements of Fiji policewomen can never be challenged. Women officers have and continue to create history. You set benchmarks – benchmarks established by women officers before you who did not have the same opportunities that you have today,” he said.
He also expressed his appreciation to women officers across the force for their dedication and service, assuring members of the network’s executive committee of his continued support towards initiatives aimed at empowering women within the organisation.
SP Natui further acknowledged the on-going support provided by the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme.
He said the partnership had evolved beyond professional cooperation into one built on friendship and mutual support, contributing significantly to the development and empowerment efforts of the Fiji Police Force.
The Fiji Police Women’s Advisory Network empowerment workshop focused on strengthening leadership, professional development and support systems for women serving within the Fiji Police Force.
