Corrections To Sort Out Overcrowding
The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is seeking solutions to the overcrowding of remand and convicted inmates at its Vaturekuka facility in Labasa.

The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is seeking solutions to the overcrowding of remand and convicted inmates at its Vaturekuka facility in Labasa.
FCS Acting Commissioner, Salote Panapasa, said this was an immediate problem that must be addressed.
“Labasa still accommodates convicted prisoners with those placed on remand as well as female offenders in one facility,” she said.

The FCS has three main centres, Natabua in Lautoka, Korovou in Suva and in Labasa.
